Armed robbers attack top Nigerian actors, Odunlade Adekola, and Mr. Latin


Renown Nigerian actors, Bolaji Amusan, stage named Mr. Latin, and Odunlade Adekola were attacked on Saturday night by armed men.

It was reported that the actors were coming returning from Glo music show held in Ijebu-ode when their cars ran into a road block mounted by the armed robbers.

Mr Latin said: “We left Ijebu-Ode after the show and heading to Abeokuta when at about 7.30 p.m. we ran into the armed robbers already stationed themselves on the road.”

The actor revealed Odunlade who as driving a Toyota Avensis was ahead while himself was driving a Toyota Camry behind. Odunlade sighted the road block made by the armed robbers and attempted to make a detour but the robbers fired shots into his tyre forcing him to stop that car.

Mr. Latin claims he and his colleague, with others in the car, abandoned their vehicles and ran into the bush where they stayed for about 2 hours.

During that time the armed robbers searched their cars for money, phone and other valuables which they made away with.

“We took to our heels as the robbers pursued us with guns. We were in the bush for about two hours, before we later regained freedom after the robbers left the scene,

It took the help of Vigilante member to rescue them from the bush after which they were taken to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu for medical care.

The matter was later reported to the Police and he gave thanks to God for preserving their lives.
