Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose called on the Federal Government in a statement to increase the monthly allowance of NYSC Corps members in the country from 19,800 to 50,000 Naira.
The governor stated this in Ise Ekiti at the closing ceremony of the orientation course of the 2017 NYSC batch “A” stream 2
Fayose who was represented by his Commissioner for Information, Youths, and Sports, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, Governor Fayose said: “The state government will provide all the necessary support for the Corps members to make their service year memorable in the state”.
In her remark the NYSC State Coordinator, Barrister Ukagha Nwanor Eze charged the corps members to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow.
“I want to charge all Corps members to always see themselves as leaders of tomorrow and stay away from corruption during and after the service year.”
The Permanent Secretary State Ministry of Information, Kola Ajumobi assured corps members deployed to the state of safety in their national assignment.
“Ekiti State is the most peaceful state in Nigeria, Corps members can tour the 16 local governments of the state any time they like, they are very safe,” he said.
