In the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one spot.
The football governing body released the ranking on its website wherewith Nigeria sit at the 52nd position with 606 points as to the previous ranking where Nigeria was occupying the 51st position with 651 points.
The Super Eagles maintained the seventh position in the continent, Africa, where Tunisia, Senegal, DR Congo, CHAN champions Morocco, Egypt, and Cameroon make up Africa’s top six countries.
Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Algeria are eighth, ninth and 10th in Africa.
Germany maintained the top spot with 1602 point and followed by Brazil in second, Portugal in third, Argentina in fourth and Belgium in fifth.
However, Nigeria’s World Cup group opponents, Iceland were the biggest movers, accumulated a total of 1017 points to move up two spots from 20th to 18th while Croatia remained in 15th.
The next FIFA World Ranking will be released on March 15.
