Samsung Galaxy S8 active referenced in Amazon listing hints at August release date

The anticipation of the Galaxy S8 Active has to be keen. The handset is codenamed “Cruiser” and it will be exclusive to AT&T in the United States.

In past weeks, the much anticipated Galaxy S8 Active has received its Wi-Fi certification and has appeared on benchmarking websites quite a time and also have passed through the Federal Communications Commission.

Though AT&T and Samsung are yet to make official the unveiling of the new handset, it’s believed the launch is not far away.

Amazon has listed a screen protector for the handset on its website, on August 1, as the release date. This might be a hint that the handset might be unveiled soon.

The Galaxy S8 Active is expected to feature an Exynos 8895 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 5.8-inch flat AMOLED display. The handset will provide extra durability as it will be built to the MIL-STD-810G standard and would be resistant to drops, dust, and water.

This is in contrast to what is offered on the standard Galaxy S8 with the change most likely made in order to fortify the chassis against drops and impacts.

The projected cost of the Galaxy S8 Active is still unknown at this time.
