The tech giant, Apple, is being investigated in the United States for slowing down older models of iPhone, according to report.
The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg reported the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission were probing whether Apple violated securities laws.
Last December, Apple admitted that as the battery wears it may slow the Smartphone’s processor in the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone SE.
After apologizing for the slowing down after a blogger test and revealed the action.
ABC reports that Apple shares fell 0.6 percent to close at US$166.97 and were down 7 percent since Thursday.
However, Apple under fire by politicians and faced a French probe and a slew of lawsuits that alleged the company aimed to increase sales of newer models.
